Bandana Project.jpg

The Bandana Project is a mental health awareness and suicide prevention campaign that uses backpacks and bandanas to support peers in getting help.

From prompts for everyday conversations to providing links to suicide prevention trainings, The Bandana Project works against stigma and reinforces solidarity in mental health awareness.

For those who don't know, The Bandana Project aims to train students and faculty as mental health allies. In attending at least one training, you will be provided with a green bandana to signal that you are a resource other students & faculty can reach out to if they are struggling with their mental health.

The Makoce Ikikcupi Initiative

Makoce Ikikcupi is a land recovery project organized by the Dakota people within the boundaries of the state of Minnesota. The mission of this organization is to reclaim land and reconnect the Dakota people to their homelands. Indigenous people’s knowledge is intricately connected to the land that was stolen from them, and this project allows them to reestablish a culturally-oriented and self-sufficient community in order to preserve endangered traditional knowledge and culture.
