Multicultural and International Senator Constitutional Amendments

Purpose:
To amend the Constitution so that the International and Multicultural Senators are elected during spring elections

Proposal:
Whereas, Electing Senators in the spring allows for greater time for training and planning;

Whereas, The International and Multicultural Senators are currently elected in the fall;

Whereas, Election dates are set in the Student Government Association Constitution; therefore, be it

Resolved, That there shall be a student body referendum on Tuesday February 7th, 2017 in which the student body will vote on the following questions:

Q1) Shall Article III, Section II of the SGA Constitution be amended so that the International Senator is elected during spring elections rather than during fall elections?

Q2) Shall Article III, Section II of the SGA Constitution be amended so that the Multicultural Senator is elected during spring elections rather than during fall elections?

Explanation:
This proposal will make it easier for the International and Multicultural Senators to effectively fulfill their roles.
