It is time for fall Senate Elections!

This fall we will hold elections for several Senate positions. Senate positions are filled through election by the student body. Sign-up for candidacy has been EXTENDED TO TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH AT MIDNIGHT. Campaigning will begin the following day. Voting will take place on Monday, September 21st.

Candidates must also fill out the Petition Form and GPA Disclosure Form found below. They must be submitted to Jennifer Halko in the Office of Student Activities (BC 108) by TUESDAY, SEPT. 15th.

As Curriculum Senator, you will:
– Stay informed of students’ curricular issues and questions on campus and bring to the Senate or Curriculum Committee if necessary.
– Serve as a liaison between the Senate and the Curriculum committee.


As the Off-Campus Senator, you will:
– Communicate with all students who live off campus and serve as a liaison between off campus students and the Senate.
– Distribute monthly senate reports to off campus students. 

There are two open positions for Class of 2022 Senators. As a class year representative, you will:
– Serve as a liaison between the Senator’s constituent year and senate by seeking constituent opinion on Senate matters
– Maintain open communication between Senate and constituents
– Inform class year of issues and resources
As Environmental Senator, you will:
– Act as a liaison to environmental interest groups, relevant classes on campus, Carleton and the Northfield community.
– Represent student concerns to administrators and monitor the environmental impacts of SGA funding proposals, Project and Capital funds, and major SGA branch activities.

There are three open positions for Class of 2024 Senators. As a class year representative you will:
– Serve as a liaison between the Senator’s constituent year and senate by seeking constituent opinion on Senate matters
– Maintain open communication between Senate and constituents
-Inform class year of issues and resources

There are two open positions for Class of 2021 Senators. As a class year representative, you will:
– Serve as a liaison between the Senator’s constituent year and senate by seeking constituent opinion on Senate matters
– Maintain open communication between Senate and constituents
– Inform class year of issues and resources

As Inter-Faith Senator, you will:
– Represent students of different religious traditions, spiritual, and humanistic beliefs.
– Support and be involved in the activities put on by religious student organizations such as religious observances and religious awareness week.
– Promote communication and collaboration between SGA and the College Ministry and the Lutheran Center for Faith, Values and Community.

There are two open positions for Class of 2023 Senators. As a class year representative, you will:
– Serve as a liaison between the Senator’s constituent year and senate by seeking constituent opinion on Senate matters
– Maintain open communication between Senate and constituents
– Inform class year of issues and resources
