Dear St. Olaf community,

We write to invite you to a St. Olaf and Carleton community informational event on the practical applications of immigration law. Sponsored by St. Olaf, Carleton, St. Olaf SGA, and St. Olaf Advocates for Immigrants and Refugees (AIR), this event will be held Tuesday, March 28th from 5-7 pm in the Pause. John Keller, from the Immigration Law Center in the Twin Cities, will present on various aspects of immigration law. After his presentation and discussion, there will be a moderated question and answer session. You may submit anonymous questions here.

His presentation will include a host of topics in the area of immigration, such as the following: a general introduction of immigration issues, an explanation of individuals’ rights when it comes to immigration, a discussion about current emerging immigration policies as well as the practical impact of executive orders, and an overview of planning and resources for family members who may be impacted by the travel ban.

This event is meant to provide information to members of our community who are directly affected by the executive orders, as well as educate members of the community who are not directly affected. This is a nonpartisan event; all students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.

Stay tuned for more details,
