SARN is the Sexual Assault Resource Network on campus. We provide advocacy and support for the survivors of sexual assault and their friends. The SARN office is located in Buntrock 113 and we have advocates available every M-F during chapel and community time and every evening from 8pm to 8am at 507-786-3777. The co-chairs can also be contacted any time at sarn@stolaf.edu. We are a confidential resource.

SARN meets every Tuesday evening at 7pm in BMC 202. We have SARN advocates, individuals who have completed 40 hours of advocacy training, who volunteer in our office and on the phone line, as well as general SARN members who help us plan events that spread awareness and education on campus.

SARN has had a busy year. We recently did a wellness event about how to help a friend who has been sexually assaulted and also cosponsored an event at the Felland Honor House about campus safety. We also helped with the organization of the It’s On Us Speaking of Sex event. We are currently planning events for April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness month, and also SARN’s busiest month of the year. Keep your eyes open for lots of events that month, including the Sexual Assault Awareness Month kick off in Buntrock, as well as the Survivor Panel.

Another exciting happening for SARN recently is an on-going SARN advocate training hosted here at St. Olaf. SARN is excited to soon welcome multiple new advocates to our organization.
