St. Olaf Global Medical Brigades just came back from Honduras over Interim break and helped over 750 patients in two rural communities within the country.

Global Brigades is the largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization in the world. This organization serves and educates communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, and Ghana. Through a series of different projects, Global Brigades implements a holistic model rooted in creating self-sufficiency in these communities.

Over the past four years St. Olaf students have helped over 2,000 patients and families receive care through Global Brigades, and our program is growing. Next year we hope to take over 75 students working within programs including the medical, public health, environmental, and possibly water brigades.

If you are interested in getting involved with our organization contact Andrew Hoffman (hoffmaao@stolaf.edu), Sarah Rajala (rajala@stolaf.edu),  Zoe Hansen (hansenz@stolaf.edu), or Danny Mohama (mohama@stolaf.edu). We will have interest meetings for next year’s brigades this spring.
