Hello St. Olaf! So, while we all know how much you enjoy our weekly blog  posts, we have something very new and exciting for you: WEEKLY PLAYLISTS! For every week of this semester, a lovely member of our committee will be curating a playlist that drops EVERY FRIDAY. Brought to you just in time for the weekend AND FOR SPRING BREAK!

So, you’ve heard the above statement for about 2 weeks now! Crazy right? To celebrate our first month of making playlists – and to de-stress from midterms –  this weeks playlist focuses on love! Love yourself, love life, love music and also love ACTUALLY GOOD LOVE SONGS! Curated by our very own Marni Kaldjian, this is what she had to say about her phenomenal playlist: ACTUALLY GOOD LOVE SONGS!

We all need love songs in our lives, but what we don’t need is yet another cliche song singing about how happy or sad love is. Yes, it can be great, but it’s also heart-wrenching and impractical and belligerent and boring and mystical and and annoying and patient and so many things in between. The best love songs, in my opinion, don’t even seem to be about love at first glance. The best love songs are more about life and all that it entails that’s ultimately unexplainable through anything but a song.
This playlist is a selection of songs that attempts to bridge this gap for me. Some are sad, some are happy, but most are in-between; where most of us reside. Enjoy.

You can find Marni’s playlist ACTUALLY GOOD LOVE SONGS and other playlists on our Oleville, Facebook, and on our newly created Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/user/st.olafcollegemec!
