SGA Exec possition
Executive Assistant

What have you been doing over the summer?
I’ve been spending my summer on the hill working in the admissions office! Although campus feels pretty bare in the summer, it has been great showing prospective students around campus and meeting with class of 2020 students (although walking by the Pause everyday while going on 3 months without Pause Cookies has been pretty tough). This summer I’ve also been working with the Big Discovery Project interviewing alumni around the twin cities. This means I get paid to do my two favorite things, drink coffee and meet with other Oles!

Why are you excited about your position & what do you hope to accomplish this year in that role?
I loved being a part of SGA last year and am excited to continue being a part of SGA as executive assistant this year, where I will get to work closely with the exec team and all of SGA to help make sure everything runs smoothly, so all of our awesome events and important conversations can continue to run without a hitch. In my role, I want to help make SGA a place where everyone feels at home and can find awesome friends fast, that means helping first-years and new members navigate the crazy big group we are, by building connections and organizing information as soon as the school year gets started. My goal is that everyone feels welcome and invited to join this fun group I’ve come to love!

What have you missed the most while being off the hill this summer?
Since I have been on the hill this summer I’ve gotten my fill of sunsets in the natural lands, St. Olaf cookies, and Reference Room time but it’s been weird not doing it with everyone else. I am getting more and more excited for everyone to be back for caf family dinners, chats on Old Main hill, and yes I’m even excited for classes to get started again!
